Tim is a multi-disciplinary scientist with a passion for science communication and outreach.
In a career spanning radio astronomy, data science, biodiversity, and CX/UX design, Tim is keen to bring his diverse set of skills to the table at AusSRC.

Tim is currently sharing his time between AusSRC and the International Centre for Radio Astronomy Research (ICRAR), where they are able to utilise their extensive background in communicating astrophysics.
Initially working in radio astronomy as a pulsar scientist, Tim has always had a fascination for ways in which the wonders of the universe could be shared with others. Founding the Guerrilla Astronomy initiative in 2009, a decentralised effort to get telescopes out to as many different communities as possible, he soon found himself as the lead exhibition designer at Scitech Discovery Centre.
After developing multiple award-winning exhibitions that went on to tour around the world, Tim turned their attention to tackling biodiversity loss as a result of the climate crisis, working as a data scientist for both the Western Australian Museum and the Department of Biodiversity, Conservation, and Attractions (DBCA).
Tim would eventually come full-circle, finding his way back to ICRAR and AusSRC doing what he loves most – delivering world-class space and astronomy outreach to communities across Australia, and advising where possible on ways the organisation can increase their impact in the community.
