Collaborate with Us

We are looking for organisations and individuals to collaborate with us to help extend our impact beyond radio astronomy

Work with us to:
  • Co-develop and deliver data and processing intensive innovations.

  • Leverage our expertise, facilities and professional network to help solve industry problems.

  • Translate radio astronomy data analysis techniques and software tools to other scientific domains.

  • Support the development and diversification of our Australian workforce.

  • Utilise astronomy to make a positive social impact in our communities.

Collaborate on Innovation Projects

Are you working on innovations across:

  • Transmission, storage and general handling of extremely large volumes of data.

  • High-performance computing and advanced computer technology.

  • Machine learning algorithms and data-driven discovery methods (utilising big data sets).

Let’s discuss potential collaboration and co-development opportunities.

Collaborate on Community Projects

The AusSRC is committed to broadening the impact we make beyond radio astronomy, including in our communities.

If you have an idea or a project where astronomy techniques or skills can be leveraged to make a positive social impact in our communities, we’d love to hear from you.

(For example, if you are delivering mental health interventions, let’s chat about opportunities to introduce Astronomical activities to support positive mental wellbeing).

Leverage AusSRC Capabilities

Expertise: At the AusSRC, we have a team of highly skilled professionals with experience across:

  • Science Support, including:

    • Large volume, scientific data analysis and visualisation.
    • Extraterrestrial and terrestrial radio frequency interference (RFI) detection and mitigation.
    • Very Long Baseline Interferometry (VLBI).
    • Anomaly detection algorithms.
    • Ionospheric view and event tracking.
  • Computer science and software engineering, across:

    • Scientific simulations and information modelling.
    • Advanced and scalable data processing pipelines.
    • Automated workflows and workflow management solutions.
    • Artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning.
    • Cloud and supercomputing:
      • End-to-end development of software optimised for high-performance computing environments (such as GPU programming).
      • High-performance computing operations, such as web service development, containerisation, orchestration, networking and infrastructure management.

If you have a business problem or innovation challenge, outside of radio astronomy, that could benefit from the expertise above, reach out to discuss how we can translate our team’s skills or collaborate across disciplines to support (for example, through staff exchange programs).

Facilities: Are you working on a project that requires high-performance compute or storage capacity?

The AusSRC is rapidly building a network of HPC infrastructure across Australia. If you are working on an Australian-based, advanced data processing or technology innovation project, and need more compute or storage to unlock your innovation, please get in touch.

Professional Network: Are you looking to collaborate in other science or technology domains that are not listed above as AusSRC priorities?

The AusSRC team has a wide network of collaborators and affiliates through our Partner organisations and the deeply connected professionals on our team. From space communications to antenna design and engineering innovations, we are happy to discuss and connect you to the right team to support your needs.
